Shoreline Community College has partnered with The Japan Foundation and the Laurasian Institution to present the “KAKEHASHI Project- The Bridge for Tomorrow” as part of the Youth Exchange Program promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan. The objectives of this project are to promote deeper mutual understanding between the people of Japan and the United States, enable future leaders of Japan-US exchanges to form networks.
On March 20th, 2014, 400 students from 16 high schools came from Japan and visited Shoreline Community College to learn more about international education and college life. We showed a video made by our international students, followed by a campus tour and a student panel discussion sharing their experiences in the U.S.
Hiromasa, one participant, from Nanzan International Jr.Sr. High School, said “this visit helped me to develop a global perspectives and encouraged him to be an active roles in the future.”
